Community Legacies
Questions Communities Ask
Every community begins with its own people, rhythms, and hopes. These answers offer a place to start the conversation.
A Thoughtful Beginning
The practical questions matter.
So do the choices behind them. Open any question and take the time you need.
01What does a Community Legacy pilot look like?
An initial experience may begin with a focused group of residents and appropriate community participants. A pilot gives everyone room to learn what resonates before deciding what deserves to grow.
02How many residents should begin?
The starting group depends on your community, the residents who wish to participate, available support, and what you hope to learn. We can shape a thoughtful beginning together.
03How much staff involvement is required?
The experience is intended to fit thoughtfully into community life. We would discuss the right participants and practical rhythm with your team, without assuming a staffing commitment before we understand your setting.
04Do residents need to be comfortable with technology?
The experience begins with conversation and straightforward interaction rather than technical expertise. We would learn about each resident’s preferences and needs when planning participation.
05Can families participate?
Family contributions can add meaningful context when a Member invites them and the participation is properly governed. An invitation does not mean unrestricted access to a Member’s materials.
06What can become part of a Living Time Capsule?
Stories, photographs, recordings, documents, reflections, family context, meaningful artifacts, personal history, and experiences from today can all contribute to the fuller picture a Member chooses to preserve.
07How are consent and privacy handled?
Participation begins with the Member’s choices and clear permission. Personal materials are subject to the established consent, privacy, and stewardship terms. Those governing documents remain the source for specific rights and responsibilities.
08What is Haliʻa’s role?
Haliʻa is the Guiding Guruu who builds with the Member while life is being lived. Her warm, thoughtful conversation gives people a place to begin and continue preserving what matters to them.
09What happens after a Member passes?
A Member’s preserved Legacy is intended for continuity beyond their lifetime under their choices and established stewardship terms. A Legacy Guruu that could draw on approved preserved materials is a future direction; that experience is not available in the current Living Time Capsule.
10How does Community Legacy pricing work?
A community partnership would be shaped around its scope, intended participation, implementation, resident experience, and level of engagement. We have not set a standard Community Legacy price here. A direct conversation is the right place to explore what fits.
