A Legacy is created by a person.
Stewardship protects the choices, context, meaning, permissions, and responsibilities that allow that Legacy to continue with care.
The Stewardship & Continuity Agreement explains how a Member may designate a Steward, what that responsibility means, when Steward authority may become active, what remains within the Member's control, and how continuity is handled following death, incapacity, conflicting claims, or other qualifying circumstances.
Guruu International Inc. operates Legacy Guruuz™.
Stewardship works together with the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Member Consent & Legacy Authorization, Content Standards, and any applicable Voice & Likeness Consent, Contributor agreement, rights-holder authorization, estate agreement, license, or feature-specific agreement.
1. Purpose of Stewardship
Legacy Guruuz Stewardship exists to preserve continuity according to the Member's choices.
A Steward may become responsible for defined Legacy Guruuz matters when a Member dies, becomes unable to manage their Legacy, or reaches another authorized Stewardship condition established through the service.
Stewardship supports:
Member direction;
responsible continuity;
appropriate access;
preservation of documented Legacy record;
provenance;
permissions;
Contributor and family boundaries;
protection of Legacy Content;
future Legacy development where authorized.
A Steward receives responsibility within Legacy Guruuz rather than ownership of the Member's life, identity, Founding recognition, or Legacy.
2. Important Definitions
For purposes of the Stewardship & Continuity Agreement:
“Member” means the individual whose Living Legacy is created or maintained through Legacy Guruuz.
“Steward” means the adult designated through Legacy Guruuz to carry defined continuity responsibilities concerning the Member's Legacy.
“Alternate Steward” means an adult identified by the Member to serve if the primary Steward cannot or will not serve, where that option is available.
“Legacy Content” means stories, photographs, recordings, writings, reflections, relationships, values, documents, memories, voice, video, memorabilia, and other materials governed within the Member's Legacy environment.
“Private Legacy Content” means Legacy Content whose access remains restricted according to Member permissions, applicable rights, service configuration, and governing agreements.
“Stewardship Instructions” means the Member's recorded choices concerning Steward designation, access, continuity, permissions, sharing, future Legacy handling, or other Stewardship matters available through the service.
“Activation Event” means a verified circumstance that allows applicable Steward authority to begin according to the Member's instructions, governing agreements, rights, and law.
3. The Member Leads Their Living Legacy
While the Member remains able and authorized to manage their Legacy Guruuz relationship, the Member remains the primary authority over their Living Legacy.
Member decisions may include:
what materials to preserve;
what information to correct;
what permissions to grant or revoke;
who may receive access;
which Contributors may participate;
who serves as Steward;
what eligible Legacy Content may be removed;
how documented Legacy record should be clarified;
what future Legacy development may occur;
what voice or likeness permissions may be considered;
other available Legacy controls.
Steward designation does not displace the Member's authority during their active Living Legacy unless the Member has expressly authorized a defined role or applicable law establishes another result.
4. Choosing a Steward
A Member may designate an eligible adult to serve as Steward.
The initial Legacy Guruuz service requires a Steward to be at least 18 years old.
A strong Steward is someone the Member trusts to:
respect their wishes;
protect private information;
preserve context;
distinguish documented Legacy record from opinion or interpretation;
act thoughtfully around family relationships;
follow permissions;
preserve the dignity of the Legacy;
communicate responsibly;
recognize uncertainty;
seek clarification when authority is unclear.
Contact and identifying information may be collected as reasonably necessary to invite, verify, and communicate with the proposed Steward.
5. Designation Does Not Equal Access
Naming a Steward creates a recorded continuity instruction.
Designation alone does not provide unrestricted access to Private Legacy Content, account controls, voice or likeness capabilities, or other sensitive Legacy functions.
Access depends upon the Member's instructions, applicable permissions, service configuration, verified circumstances, governing agreements, and law.
6. Changing or Revoking a Steward
The Member may change or revoke a Steward designation through available Legacy Guruuz procedures while the Member retains authority to do so.
A later valid designation supersedes an earlier service-level designation to the extent established by the Member's recorded instructions.
Records of prior designations, revocations, and changes may be preserved where reasonably necessary for audit history, security, dispute resolution, legal compliance, continuity, or evidence of Member direction.
Revocation of Steward authority does not require deletion of records needed to document the revocation.
7. Alternate Stewards
Legacy Guruuz may allow a Member to designate one or more Alternate Stewards.
An Alternate Steward may become eligible to serve if the primary Steward:
declines;
cannot be reached after reasonable efforts;
has died;
lacks capacity;
resigns;
is removed;
faces a material conflict;
becomes legally or operationally unable to serve.
Another Member-authorized condition may also support succession where available.
Priority among multiple Stewards or alternates follows the Member's recorded instructions where those instructions are available and enforceable.
8. A Steward Must Accept the Responsibility
Naming a person does not obligate them to serve.
The designated person may be invited to review and affirmatively accept the Stewardship role.
Acceptance may require:
identity confirmation;
age confirmation;
contact verification;
acknowledgment of the Stewardship & Continuity Agreement;
acknowledgment of applicable privacy and confidentiality responsibilities;
confirmation of willingness to serve;
electronic acceptance or signature.
A Steward may decline.
9. Steward Responsibilities
A Steward who accepts the role agrees to act with care and within the authority established by the Member, governing agreements, applicable rights, and law.
Responsibilities may include:
respecting Member instructions;
protecting Private Legacy Content;
preserving documented Legacy record;
protecting provenance and attribution;
respecting Contributor rights;
honoring permissions;
protecting confidential information;
avoiding unauthorized public disclosure;
communicating material changes or concerns;
providing accurate verification information;
identifying uncertainty rather than presenting assumptions as fact;
protecting authentication credentials;
using Steward authority only for authorized Legacy purposes.
10. Steward Authority Is Defined and Limited
A Steward receives only the authority granted through the Member's Stewardship Instructions, applicable Legacy Guruuz functionality, accepted agreements, applicable rights, and law.
Steward status does not automatically authorize a person to:
access every Private Legacy item;
alter the historical record supported by the Member’s Legacy materials;
alter the Member's expressed values or documented positions;
speak legally in the Member's name;
sell or commercially exploit Legacy Content;
license material the Steward does not control;
create unrestricted public access;
create new publicity rights;
expand modeled voice or likeness permissions;
create new digital-replica permissions;
override Contributor rights;
transfer ownership of Legacy Content;
enter contracts in the Member's name;
manage the Member's financial assets;
serve as executor, trustee, guardian, conservator, or attorney-in-fact merely through Steward designation.
11. Member Control During Life
The governing Stewardship posture during the Member's lifetime is Member control.
Specific Steward participation or access may be authorized where corresponding functionality and permissions allow.
Any lifetime access should remain proportionate to the Member's express direction.
12. Member Instructions Remain Primary
Where a Member and Steward can both interact with Legacy Guruuz, the Member's valid instructions govern their Living Legacy unless:
applicable law requires another result;
a legally authorized representative establishes superior authority;
a verified incapacity pathway has been activated;
a material security or safety concern requires temporary restriction.
Conflicting actions may be paused while authority is clarified.
13. Member Revocations and Deletions Remain Meaningful
A later Steward activation does not automatically revive a permission the Member validly revoked.
A Steward also does not gain authority merely through death or incapacity to restore Legacy Content the Member intentionally and validly removed from active Legacy use.
Limited copies may continue to exist temporarily or where reasonably required for backups, legal compliance, security, transaction records, rights administration, dispute resolution, or evidence of Member direction.
A retained copy does not become active Legacy Content merely because it remains within a restricted system record.
14. Activation Following Death
A Steward may become eligible for applicable continuity authority following the Member's death.
Reasonable verification may be required before Steward access or control is activated.
Verification may include:
Steward identity;
Member identity;
proof of death;
current Steward designation;
applicable Stewardship Instructions;
relevant rights-holder information;
legal representative information where appropriate;
documentation reasonably required by law, policy, or the nature of the requested action.
Authority may remain limited while material rights, identity, or legal questions are unresolved.
15. Activation Following Incapacity
A Member may authorize Steward continuity if the Member becomes unable to manage their Legacy Guruuz relationship.
Incapacity can be temporary, partial, disputed, or defined differently under applicable law.
Reasonable verification may therefore be required before applicable control transfers.
Verification may include documentation from an authorized legal representative, court, recognized power of attorney, qualified professional where legally appropriate, or another source reasonably sufficient for the circumstances.
Only information reasonably necessary to determine authority should be requested.
16. Restoration of Member Control
Where Steward authority was activated because of temporary incapacity and the Member later regains the ability and authority to manage their Legacy, Member control may be restored following appropriate verification.
A historical record of the temporary Stewardship period may remain for continuity, security, rights administration, dispute resolution, and audit purposes.
17. Identity and Authority Verification
Identity or authority verification may be required before:
accepting a Steward;
changing a Steward;
activating Steward access;
releasing Legacy Content;
granting sensitive permissions;
acting following death or incapacity;
resolving conflicting claims;
authorizing exports or transfers;
enabling significant future Legacy actions.
Verification requirements may vary according to risk, sensitivity, service functionality, applicable law, and the action requested.
18. Protecting Steward Access
A Steward is responsible for protecting authentication credentials and access methods.
Suspected account compromise, unauthorized access, impersonation, fraud, credential disclosure, or misuse of Steward authority should be reported promptly.
Access may be temporarily restricted while a material security concern is investigated.
19. Stewardship Does Not Transfer Ownership
Serving as Steward does not transfer ownership of the Member's original Legacy Content.
Ownership and rights remain governed by the Member's underlying rights, Contributor rights, third-party rights, estate rights, intellectual-property law, contracts, licenses, and other governing legal instruments.
Steward authority concerns management of the Legacy Guruuz relationship within defined boundaries.
20. Stewardship Does Not Expand Permissions
A Steward may administer existing permissions within the authority available to them.
Stewardship does not create a new permission merely because an Activation Event has occurred.
The distinction is especially important for:
public sharing;
publicity;
commercial use;
modeled voice;
synthetic likeness;
biometric identity use;
digital replicas;
licensed third-party content;
institutional distribution;
new forms of Legacy embodiment.
Additional authorization, rights, licensing, estate authority, or legal review may be required.
21. Private Legacy Content Remains Private by Permission
Death or incapacity does not automatically convert Private Legacy Content into public content.
Steward access remains governed by Member instructions, activated permissions, privacy requirements, applicable rights, governing agreements, service configuration, and law.
The existence of a Steward does not erase the Member's privacy choices.
22. Preserve What Came From Whom
A Steward is expected to preserve the distinction between:
• the Member’s firsthand statements;
• Contributor perspectives;
• documents and verified records;
• Legacy Guruuz interpretations or records;
• AI-assisted or service-generated content;
• uncertain or disputed information.
A Steward may add authorized context or documented corrections.
The Steward should avoid rewriting a Member’s history merely to resolve family disagreement or personal discomfort.
23. Corrections After Death
New information may emerge after a Member's death.
An authorized Steward may submit:
verified records;
documented corrections;
additional supporting materials;
Contributor perspectives;
clarification about the origin or context of materials;
evidence affecting a previous system interpretation.
Historical integrity may warrant preserving both an earlier source and a later correction.
System interpretation may be updated when stronger documented Legacy record becomes available.
24. Family Relationship Does Not Equal Authority
Family relationship alone does not create unrestricted access to Private Legacy Content or authority over a Legacy Guruuz account.
Access or authority may depend upon Member permissions, Steward designation, Contributor status, rights-holder authority, legally recognized authority, governing agreements, service configuration, and law.
Requests lacking sufficient authority may be declined or held for clarification.
25. Contributor Rights Remain Distinct
A Steward does not automatically acquire ownership or unrestricted authority over material contributed by another person.
Contributor material remains subject to attribution, permissions, copyright, privacy, publicity, voice, likeness, contractual rights, contribution terms, and applicable law.
A Steward may administer Contributor material only within the authority available through the Legacy relationship.
26. Different People May Remember Differently
Legacy work can involve different memories, perspectives, relationships, beliefs, or interpretations.
Where people disagree:
documented Legacy record remains distinguishable from opinion;
provenance remains relevant;
the Member's recorded direction carries substantial weight within the service;
Contributor perspectives may remain separately attributable;
uncertainty may remain visible;
privacy and rights boundaries continue to apply.
A single family narrative does not need to be manufactured where the sources support several authentic perspectives.
27. Conflicting Stewards or Representatives
Competing instructions may come from a designated Steward, Alternate Steward, executor, trustee, agent under power of attorney, guardian, conservator, estate representative, rights-holder, family member, or another person claiming authority.
Where a material conflict exists, affected actions may be temporarily restricted while the competing authority is reviewed.
Preserving the existing Legacy state can be appropriate while the question is resolved.
28. Legally Recognized Authority
Legacy Guruuz Stewardship is a service-level continuity framework.
Applicable law may separately recognize executors, trustees, agents under powers of attorney, guardians, conservators, personal representatives, rights-holders, or other fiduciaries.
Those legally recognized roles may carry rights or duties distinct from Stewardship.
Guruu International Inc. may request or honor legally sufficient documentation where applicable.
Service-level Steward designation does not prevent legally recognized authority from receiving the consideration required by law.
29. Temporary Hold During a Dispute
Where authority cannot reasonably be established, affected Legacy functions may be placed into a temporary restricted state.
A hold may include:
preserving Legacy Content;
restricting editing;
restricting export;
restricting sharing;
suspending voice or likeness activation;
pausing a transfer of control;
preserving relevant records;
requesting additional documentation.
The purpose of a temporary hold is to protect the Legacy, affected people, and governing rights while authority is clarified.
30. Stewardship Is Distinct From Estate Planning
Legacy Guruuz Stewardship is designed specifically for the Legacy Guruuz service.
A Steward designation does not create or replace:
a will;
trust;
power of attorney;
executor appointment;
trusteeship;
guardianship;
conservatorship;
health-care directive;
beneficiary designation;
probate instruction;
legal fiduciary appointment;
comprehensive digital-estate plan.
Formal estate, financial, medical, fiduciary, and legal planning should use the appropriate legally recognized instruments and qualified professionals.
31. Coordinating Legacy Wishes With Legal Planning
Members who want Legacy instructions to coordinate with a will, trust, power of attorney, digital-estate plan, or other formal instrument should consider documenting those intentions through qualified legal counsel.
Legacy Guruuz governs service-level Legacy choices.
Formal legal instruments govern the legal subjects assigned to them.
32. Steward Resignation
A Steward may resign.
The process may require identity verification, written or electronic resignation, transition information, or confirmation of an Alternate Steward.
Resignation does not grant authority to delete, transfer, publish, dispose of, or materially alter Legacy Content unless such authority already exists through another valid source.
33. Suspension or Removal of a Steward
Steward access may be suspended or removed when reasonably necessary because of misuse, fraud, security risk, violation of Member instructions, unauthorized disclosure, material violation of governing agreements, rights infringement, legal process, conflicting authority, or another serious trust concern.
Where practical and appropriate, notice may be provided.
Immediate restriction may be appropriate where continued access creates material risk.
34. When No Steward Is Available
If no designated Steward is available after a qualifying event or circumstance under this Agreement, the Legacy may remain in a protected state while determining whether:
an Alternate Steward exists;
a legally authorized representative comes forward;
Member instructions address the circumstance;
applicable law establishes another valid pathway.
Legacy Guruuz will not select a family member merely because that person is related to the Member.
35. Stewardship of Founding Member Recognition
Permanent Founding Member recognition remains associated with the original qualifying Founding Member and the corresponding Legacy.
A Steward may administer authorized continuity for that Legacy.
Stewardship does not transfer the Founding identity or cause the Steward personally to become the Founding Member.
Protected Founding commitments remain governed by the Terms of Service and applicable Founding enrollment terms.
36. Stewardship of an Authorized Legacy Guruu
Where an authorized Legacy Guruu exists, Stewardship may include defined responsibilities concerning its continued availability and governance.
A Steward may support:
• corrections to the documented Legacy record;
• clarification about the origin and context of Legacy materials;
• authorized access;
• family permissions;
• rights administration;
• safety concerns;
• reporting inaccurate or inappropriate Legacy Guruuz output.
A Steward may not freely rewrite the represented person’s worldview or authorize identity-changing use outside the Member’s permissions, documented Legacy record, governing agreements, and applicable rights.
37. A Steward Does Not Become the Represented Person
A Legacy Guruu remains a guided Legacy experience based on authorized materials and permissions.
The Steward does not become the represented person's voice merely by serving as Steward.
The Steward should distinguish:
• what the person actually said;
• what the preserved materials establish;
• what Contributors remember;
• what Legacy Guruuz interprets;
• what is generated through AI-assisted processing.
38. Voice, Likeness, and Digital-Replica Permissions
A Steward may administer authorized voice or likeness functionality only within the scope of existing rights and permissions.
Possession of a recording or photograph does not itself create unrestricted authority to:
clone a voice;
create a biometric voice model;
create a synthetic voice;
create a new digital replica;
commercially exploit likeness;
materially expand distribution;
create new synthetic identity uses.
Consent, licensing, publicity rights, estate authority, intellectual-property rights, biometric requirements, and other applicable laws continue to govern.
39. Steward Confidentiality
A Steward agrees to protect Private Legacy Content and other confidential information available through their role.
Information should be disclosed only within granted permissions, for authorized Legacy purposes, where legally required, or where reasonably necessary to protect immediate safety or legal rights.
Steward access carries responsibility.
It is not permission for casual family distribution.
40. Privacy Continues Through Stewardship
Personal information and Legacy Content continue to be handled according to the Privacy Policy.
Information relating to living Contributors, relatives, friends, family members, and other people may remain protected even after the Member's death.
Stewardship does not erase another person's privacy, confidentiality, publicity, intellectual-property, or related rights.
41. Content Standards Continue to Apply
Legacy Content remains subject to the Content Standards during Stewardship.
Steward authority cannot be used to activate, distribute, or preserve for active Legacy use material prohibited under those Standards.
New or newly activated content may pass through the Content Review.
42. Keeping Steward Information Current
Members and Stewards should maintain current contact information.
Outdated information may delay verification, Steward acceptance, Activation Events, account recovery, security communications, or continuity actions.
The most recent verified contact information may be used for service communications.
43. Steward Communications
Guruu International Inc. may communicate with a Steward concerning designation, acceptance, verification, account security, Activation Events, Legacy continuity, rights questions, documented Legacy record, required action, service updates, or other matters related to the role.
Marketing communications remain governed separately.
44. End of Steward Authority
Steward authority may end because of:
Member revocation;
Member replacement of the Steward;
Steward resignation;
restoration of Member control following temporary incapacity;
removal for cause;
legal determination;
completed Legacy transfer under another authorized structure;
closure of the applicable Legacy relationship;
another valid governing event.
Actions validly completed while authority existed may remain part of the historical account and audit record.
45. Stewardship Features May Evolve
Legacy Guruuz may improve or expand Stewardship functionality over time.
Future capabilities may include additional permission controls, stronger identity verification, multiple Stewards, successors, family-access controls, rights-management tools, continuity planning, or other features.
Technical evolution does not itself expand Steward authority.
A materially expanded authority, identity use, or Legacy capability may require additional Member, Steward, rights-holder, or other authorization.
46. Relationship to Other Governing Documents
The Stewardship & Continuity Agreement works together with the:
Terms of Service;
Privacy Policy;
Member Consent & Legacy Authorization;
Content Standards;
Voice & Likeness Consent where applicable;
Contributor terms;
Founding Member disclosures;
rights-holder, estate, or licensing agreements;
other feature-specific agreements.
Each document governs the subject it specifically addresses.
A narrower accepted agreement may control the particular subject it expressly governs.
47. Authority Conflicts and Legal Disputes
Member-recorded Stewardship Instructions are interpreted together with applicable agreements, rights, and law.
Where a legally recognized authority presents documentation materially conflicting with a service-level Steward designation, Guruu International Inc. may pause affected activity and review the available authority before proceeding.
Legacy Guruuz does not adjudicate probate, guardianship, conservatorship, trust, estate, family-law, intellectual-property, or other legal disputes between competing claimants.
Parties may be required to resolve such disputes through the appropriate legal process before Legacy Guruuz takes a contested action.
48. Member Designation Record
When designating a Steward, a Member may be asked to affirm substantially the following:
I designate the identified person to serve as my Legacy Guruuz Steward according to my recorded Stewardship Instructions and the applicable Stewardship & Continuity Agreement.
The designation record may include:
Member identity or account identifier;
Steward identity;
date and time;
applicable Agreement version;
acceptance status;
available Stewardship Instructions;
relevant consent or permission state;
later amendment, replacement, or revocation records.
49. Steward Acceptance Record
A Steward may be asked to affirm substantially the following:
I accept the responsibility of serving as Legacy Guruuz Steward within the authority granted by the Member, the Stewardship & Continuity Agreement, applicable rights, and law.
The acceptance record may include:
Steward identity;
Member or Legacy identifier;
age confirmation;
date and time;
applicable Agreement version;
acceptance status;
later resignation, suspension, or removal records.
50. Electronic Records
Electronic designation, acceptance, acknowledgment, verification, instruction, amendment, revocation, and related records may be used to document the Stewardship relationship to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
Guruu International Inc. may retain information reasonably necessary to establish what authority existed, when it existed, what version governed, and how that authority later changed.
